I am a Consultant in Paediatric Palliative Care at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital, Liverpool, and Editor of the APPM Formulary. My clinical, educational and research interests focus on improving care for children with life-limiting conditions and supporting safe, evidence-informed prescribing. I am leading the NEO-PEARL study, a programme exploring symptoms, suffering and pharmacological symptom management in neonatal palliative and end-of-life care. I am increasingly interested in strengthening the evidence base for prescribing through research, medicines safety initiatives, and education and training programmes that support safe and effective use of medicines in paediatric palliative care.
