Terms of use & community code
Draft for ICPCN review. This wording should be checked and approved by ICPCN before public launch.
What the hub is for
The ICPCN Research Hub exists to connect, strengthen and coordinate children's palliative care research worldwide. It is run by the International Children's Palliative Care Network (ICPCN) as a professional community space for researchers, clinicians and students at every career stage, in every region.
Your account and profile
- Sign in with your own email address and keep your profile truthful; it represents you to the research community.
- New profiles are reviewed by ICPCN before appearing publicly. Later changes to the wording of an approved profile are reviewed too, and your profile stays listed with its approved details while that happens. ICPCN may decline or remove profiles that are not genuine or not appropriate for the hub.
- You control your profile's visibility and can hide it, or ask for your account and data to be removed, at any time (see the privacy notice).
Community code
- Be respectful and collegial. This is a small, global community that depends on trust: critique ideas, never people.
- Collaborate equitably. The hub is committed to fair partnership between high-income and low- and middle-income settings, including in authorship and credit.
- Never share identifiable patient or family information. Case details, images or data that could identify a child or family have no place on the hub.
- No commercial solicitation. Contact relayed through the hub is for research connection, mentorship and collaboration, not marketing, recruitment spam or fundraising.
- Represent your work honestly. Claim only publications and affiliations that are yours.
Content you contribute
- You keep ownership of what you write. By publishing on the hub you give ICPCN permission to display it here, with your name, for the community.
- Published documents keep a public version history so contributions are transparent and attributable.
- ICPCN may unpublish or remove content that breaches this code or the hub's purpose.
What the hub is not
- Nothing on the hub is medical advice. Content reflects its authors' views, not necessarily ICPCN's.
- Links to external sites, tools and resources are provided in good faith; ICPCN is not responsible for their content or availability.
- The hub is provided as-is by a charity with limited resources; we aim for reliability but cannot guarantee uninterrupted service.
Moderation and changes
ICPCN administers the hub, moderates profiles and content, and may update these terms as the hub develops. Significant changes will be noted on this page. If you have questions, or want to report content or behaviour that concerns you, see About & help for how to reach the team.
