Kanako Takeda is a pediatrician and pediatric palliative care physician at the National Center for Child Health and Development (NCCHD), Japan. With a background in pediatric neurology in Japan and observership in pediatric palliative care in the UK, her work focuses on improving communication, decision-making, and family-centered care for children with serious and life-limiting conditions. Her current research focuses particularly on perinatal palliative care, including parental understanding and perceptions of fetal conditions, shared decision-making, birth planning, memory-making, and end-of-life care.
