"To the Editor: With the changing Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education requirements and the looming general and subspecialty pediatrician shortages, now is the time to consider carefully pediatric residency training. Aye et al should be applauded for identifying subspecialty learning objectives important for general pediatrics training.1 However, we were struck by the absence of pediatric palliative care (PC) learning objectives, given that these skills are essential for the holistic care of children and their families.
